Shared Heritage : A History of Lummi Island

“Shared Heritage” was produced to raise awareness of Lummi Island’s history and to raise funds for the land conservation work of Lummi Island Heritage Trust. When authors Bobbie Hutchings, Thurid Clark, and Beth Hudson began working on the book, it was their hope that by knowing our past, it would strengthen the effort to preserve our wonderful island community for future generations.

Beautifully printed, the soft cover book is adorned with a color photo of Lummi Island. Inside, 63-pages contain 70 historical photos, original drawings and maps printed in sepia tones, and a narrative that describes how Lummi Island has changed over time and has become the community that so many of us cherish today. The book is divided into 15 chapters about the countless events and individuals that have played a role in the island’s history.
